Quick Analysis:

To kick off today’s best bets, I’m taking a chance on Ahab to run top-three. The gelding has been hitting the mark a lot in the last couple of months, and while this one does look slightly harder, I reckon he is up for the challenge. He draws the rails and gets 3kg off his back thanks to apprentice jockey Zac Moore. The price is another drawcard, with the 6YO currently going around at $3.90 to place.

Quick Analysis:

Staying in Seymour for my second best bet of the day, and it’s hard for me to go past the favourite, Misty Whisper. The gelding comes in light at the weights under handicap conditions, and he won at this track/ trip last time out. Will Gordon retains the ride, and they draw better than they did last time out. It’s easy to see why he is the favourite, and the $2.50 that’s on offer is still slightly generous in my opinion.

Quick Analysis:

My final best bet of the day comes at Wagga, and my attention is on finding a smidge of value with Lord Of Valor. The 5YO is looking for a hat-trick of wins today, after scoring twice at Albury (and both were under Heavy track conditions). This one will be in the Heavy range as well, and I reckon he’s a runner that simply eats up the heavy ground. From barrier three, he is good enough to win this at almost each-way odds.

Stats and Insights

  • Fiery Lass broke through with a maiden victory at the Sunshine Coast last start and comes from a strong stable. She can build on that breakthrough success in Race 4 at Ipswich.
  • Mercatello should improve after her first-up effort at the Sunshine Coast and has previously placed when second-up. She can produce a sharper performance in Race 7 at Ipswich.
  • Surround Me comes from a respected stable and comes into this one third-up. She can make a strong impact from the favourable draw in Race 8 at Northam.
