Quick Analysis:

Heaps of live chances in this one, but I think Prophet's Promise presents the best value out of all the runners. The gelding broke his maiden last time out right here at Moruya on a Heavy-rated track. His strong finish to that one makes me think he’ll enjoy the step up to 2,010m today. Glenn Cahill sticks with Prophet's Promise and brings a 2kg weight relief as well.

Quick Analysis:

Off to Geelong now, and I’m siding with Insain Harry. While we haven’t seen the gelding since March, he has had two August trials (resulting in back-to-back placings) to get him ready. He boasts a first-up record of 2:1-1-0, and looks to have the right set up from barrier three. Holly Durnan hops into the saddle for this one, and she brings a 3kg weight relief as well.

Quick Analysis:

It’s hard to go past the favourite, Tannin, in the last race of the day at Gosford. The colt broke his maiden at this track two runs back (in mid-June). From that one, he went straight into the Listed Tattersall's Stakes, which proved too difficult. Things didn’t exactly go to plan for that run, so I’m more than willing to give him another chance, especially with Tommy Berry on board from barrier one.

Stats and Insights

  • Sowilo Siren comes off a win at Atherton and boasts an excellent record with three previous victories at Cairns. He can use his proven track form to maintain that momentum in Race 3 at Cairns.
  • Berezka drops back to non-metro company after showing she can perform well fresh at metro level. She can make the class relief count despite the wide draw in Race 6 at the Gold Coast.
  • Tambo's Justice is chasing a hat-trick after consecutive victories at Townsville and has performed reliably when sent out favourite. He can carry that winning momentum into Race 7 at Cairns.
