Quick Analysis:

Kicking the week off early in the day with Nafanua. The 4YO kicked off her prep last time out with a solid third at Illawarra Grange. I reckon she’ll improve from that run under her belt. She comes from the Bjorn Baker barn and Jett Newman steps into the saddle. She does have a previous win on a Soft-rated track in her short career, and even as the favourite, she still presents value.

Quick Analysis:

Hoping to line our pockets with another early win in Race 3 at Scone. Magic Merlin looks good enough to beat the favourite in my eyes. He’s coming off a maiden win at Muswellbrook, and boasts a decent career record of 7:1-3-1. The 4YO does draw wide, but Mitchell Bell, who was on board for that maiden win, steps up into the saddle. There’s a lot more value here than the favourite.

Quick Analysis:

For my final best bet, I’ve got my eye on Hughie late in the day at Wodonga. The old boy is hoping to nail back-to-back wins after the most dominant of wins last time out at Casterton (winning by 10L, yes, 10L). This one is a clear step up, but based on what he managed to do last time out, he should be right in the hunt, even from the wide draw.

  • Zipitalist is chasing a hat-trick after consecutive victories at Middlemount and Bluff. He can extend his winning streak with another strong performance in Race 3 at Emerald.
  • Varuni returned with a win at Muswellbrook and is now chasing three consecutive victories. She can keep her winning streak intact from the inside draw in Race 6 at Scone.
  • Billy Boom draws perfectly on the inside and represents the Jamie McConachy stable. He can capitalise on the favourable barrier in Race 7 at Emerald.
