Quick Analysis:

From barrier three, I think Midnight in Minori can pop up there. The mare is coming off her maiden win last time out at Dubbo, which was on a Heavy-rated track. Gabrielle Johnston retains the ride, and she brings a 2kg weight relief with her. With just 53kg on the 5YO’s back, she presents some decent enough value in what looks like a competitive field.

Heading to Bendigo now, and Boss Bundle is the deserved favourite in my eyes. The gelding kicked off his prep last time out at Sale, and finished in third, less than a length off the pace. That was a great first effort on Aussie soil, and he should certainly improve with that run under his belt. Blake Shinn sticks, and I think they’ll enjoy the Bendigo track today.

Quick Analysis:

Staying in Bendigo for my final best bet of the day, and I’ve got my eye on Mr Sioux, who looks good enough to overcome the shocker of a draw. The 3YO is looking for back-to-back wins after breaking his maiden last time out at Warrnambool. He also has experience at this track in his short career, finishing second a couple of months ago. This is a reasonable step up, but he is good enough.

Stats and Insights

  • Simply Royalty finished strongly to win at Kalgoorlie last start and gets a favourable draw. She can carry that winning momentum with decent odds into Race 4 at Kalgoorlie.
  • Demarcay placed as favourite at Beaudesert last start, and he looks ready to redeem himself here. He can maintain his consistent form in Race 5 at the Sunshine Coast.
  • Aldolfito drops back to non-metro company after placing three times at metro level this preparation. He can make the class relief count in Race 8 at the Sunshine Coast.
